I planted what was listed as a bell pepper and it's not what I expected.

Small (1.5" x 2"), very pale yellow peppers. No idea what I'm looking at as I'm a first time bell pepper gardener.

My other bell pepper plants look great, this one just has me confused!

This is definitely some type of Capsicum (the genus that includes bell peppers and chili peppers). Try tasting a small portion of it. Does it taste spicy or bell-pepper-ish?

It doesn't look like a Bell Pepper but I'm not sure which it might be. I'll move this over to the Plant Identification Forum where someone may be able to help.

So I cut it open and tried a little bit. Tastes a little sweet, no heat at all. This is the inside of the pepper.

If someone gave me a slice without telling me anything about it, I'd guess it was just bell pepper.

I've just never seen them like this.

Could it possibly be banana pepper?

When they initially started growing and didn't take on the classic bell pepper shape, I started to wonder. Initially I thought maybe I was sold pepperoncini by accident. Between those 2 (banana and pepperoncini), I'd lean banana because there's no heat. Though, I eat very hot peppers so, my tolerance is high. I just don't know. I may have to have someone else taste it to see.

They look about the same size as these, there seem to be a few places that carry seeds of a "minature yellow bell" pepper". There's also a pic in the NGA database but they look more orange than yellow there.

To add a little twist to this (like it needed a twist), I found this guy growing on the same plant. Looks like a normal green bell pepper.
Thumb of 2021-08-21/dcj1978/d37d15 Though this may turn yellow like the others... I'll just have to wait and see I guess. Slovana and miniature yellow bell seem like close possibilities.

Thank you to everyone for your help so far!

There are probably lots and lots of possibilities with sweet peppers, a few for comparison:
Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum 'Rio Grande Gold')
Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum 'Rio Grande Gold')

This one comes in yellow, orange and red: Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum 'Gypsy')
