I agree Highly invasive. Dig it out, dry it until you're sure it's dead, and dispose of it safely.

I'm not sure where it was found but it may not be hardy there. If found where not hardy, there was just a seed in the potting soil and winter will cull it for you.

We have them here in Reno also. I suppose they could be considered invasive if you don't like pulling seedlings in spring but they're beautiful trees. I'll pull the seedlings. They're a lot easier to pull that all the oak seedlings.

It will need a little more space than that pot though. Hilarious!

This tree is like globe chamomile in my area (an invasive weed). Deceptively cute but also highly invasive in many places at the same time. In some places, they are not invasive but in others, they are pest plants.

I've had a mimosa in a pot for several years. It was a volunteer. Withstands 7b winters. Got down to 6° in Feb. I wrapped the pot just in case. Came back fine.
