I had to save this one, she looked so sad in the corner at the grocery store. I don't know what she is tho, any ideas?

Also, would it be okay to use neem oil on it? Looks like something thought she was a snack....I couldn't walk away lol! Lovey dubby

it is indeed the Tree Philodendron,i also saved one around 6 months ago
dont forget regular fungicide sprays! at least once a month and if you are living in a low humidity area try to mist it at least every other day
i also spray mine with Cytokinin occasionally for that green healthy look Thumbs up

Most people say Hope is smaller. I don;t know, I don;t have any inclination to grow it. Everyone and their dog and their dog's dog has T. bipinnatifidum in Florida. Its one of the most common landscaping plants in existence here, its on every 'plant list' of every landscaper for new construction and also has been over planted in yards since the 1950's. Most people here don;t even really notice it anymore.

Yes, 'Hope' is listed as a separate entry, a cultivar, in the database on this site. By different names, I meant Philodendron vs. Tha... .some stupid new name.

Thank you for so much information on my new baby! I am so excited to see her grow, and I will do my best to keep her healthy and happy.

Here is her new spot and she seems happier now. I did treat her with some neem oil.

The new name for the genus Thaumatophyllum was established for a certain group of plants that genetically have been separated out of the genus Philodendron based on morphological traits that are quite different from other Philodendrons. The Thaumatophyllums are a group of plants that form trunks characterized by large 'eyes' on the stems that occur when the old leaf and petiole is shed and it leaves a characteristic leaf scar. Just science moving on, plants get reclassified into new geniuses all the time, especially orchids. Many Calathea alliance plants were changed to Goeppertia. It happens.

Thank you. I understand what they are doing, and appreciate the value of the research. I just disagree with using (changing) the names to indicate the latest scientific discovery.
