We need to have a discussion about allowing an albino
sport to grow on a mother plant. I recently posted one
that was taken away from B. Shorty's Variegated of which
we have had numerous sports on. This sport has both
white and green in the stalk and both variegated and white
leaves which allows it to be removed from the mother
plant. Some experts will tell you it's a total waste of time
to allow these sports to grow and yes they will do damage
to the mother plant if allow to grow. The stalk it's one if
allow to grow will die. We have in the past posted a stalk
that was all white that we allow to bloom, again blooms were
white and got the bloom to go to seed. Seedpod was pure white
and when we planted the seeds all sprouted albino and had a
very short life span.

So if you are thinking of allowing a pure white sport to grow, please
beware of what might happen and what this will do to the Mother
plant.

We have found that Tissue Culture Plants allow for many different
sports from Albino to solid to variegated.

I would love to hear other input from those that have played with
albino sports.
