This weed or whatever it is, is overcoming my whole lawn. It has yellow flowers somewhat like a dandelion. What is it? How can I control it? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'd expect any broadleaf weed control to work.

Yes, I think so, too. And based on how it grows in the lawn, it looks like one of the stoloniferous species. It doesn't matter which species of hawkweed it is, they all can be killed in the same way.
