Thread OP

Hi
I have an astrophytum I picked up last year from a cacti market and noticed this week it was a bit soft.
I assumed it was too moist so set it in the sun however the softening progressed and today I noticed yellowing.
Upon investigation I found the body of the cactus had seperated from the roots and I assume it's rot.
The roots themselves look alright so I'm wondering if I can potentially save the roots and get growth from them. Any advice on what to do is appreciated.

Welcome!

Root rot followed by sunburn. Sorry but there's nothing to save. Crying
