Foliage Fan
Long story short, I've had this little fern in my office and the foliage has started to turn brown at the middle/base. I don't know if it's because it's getting too much water/sun, along with not knowing the exact type of fern it is and how to properly care for it. I've never had much luck with ferns, so I'm hoping that this one'll live a long life🤞.

It looks like one of the many variations of Nephrolepis exaltata, the common one like your plant is 'Fluffy Ruffles'.
It doesn't look like its growing actively. Have you been fertilizing it?

I didn't think that I needed to because the soil has some fertilizer in it. I do have some all purpose fertilizer if that would work.
