I would never have thought, prior to investigation, that the Cranesbills would be finicky about growing in Oklahoma City... but that has proven to be the case. Some of them thrive... and some just look up at you, sigh, and roll over.
Luckily 'Biokovo' has proven to be very amenable to our growing conditions.
'Luckily' obviously applies to me... I am very attracted to this delicate looking, exquisitely constructed flower... and I'm very glad it approves of growing conditions here.
You must be willing to get down low to appreciate the individual blossoms... they aren't much larger than an inch across. Close up is where you want to be... they are enchanting in a large grouping... but they are nothing short of extraordinary when viewed individually:
