Thread OP

We are in the process of designing a "3 space" outdoor living space. The design has a pavilion covering an area 14'x18'. My question is: will that provide enough space to cover both a dining area table and 6 chairs as well as a seating area with a love seat (two cushions) and two reasonable size chairs surrounding a coffee table size table? We are restricted in the length of 18' but could extend the 14' depth to 16' if 16 x 18 was required. Patio will extend 13' additionally on one end and 10' additionally on the other side covered by a pergola. The patio will be 14'x41'. Alternatively we could place the dining are on the exposed 13'x14' patio (but that would be a second preference) Hoping I've provided enough detail? Thank you in advance for all input!

Best

It's obviously big enough for the dining table and chairs. The lounge suite might make it too crowded, especially if a lot of people are moving about, bringing food, visiting, etc.
I would just put all the furniture where I think I want it, then pantomime how it would be used, and see how comfortable that is. If it feels cramped or you're falling over things, move the furniture farther apart. When it feels right, measure the space that takes. If it's more than you have, decide which furniture has to go.
Behind every opportunity is a disaster in waiting.

use some card board or bath towels to lay out on the ground and see what you like as far as arranging the furniture. I think the area is too small for everything you want. Build the biggest thing you can afford that you have space for and then make it work for as much as you can. No matter how you make it, there will always be things you wish were different, that's just how it is. No matter how big you make your shed, you'll stuff it with junk lol, and wish it were bigger! Hilarious! They do make some pretty nice folding furniture nowadays maybe you can store away in another area and bring out when you have parties.
