Hi all,

I found this morning glory blooming in my neighborhood. I initially thought it was a hederacea, but aren't hederaceas bluer? Also, the leaves look a bit different.

I think it is one of the following:

Nil (wild-type)
Hederacea
Hederacea x nil

...but perhaps there are other possibilities as well.

@Bandita74, @purpleinopp, @Gerris2, @LorettaNJ, I'd appreciate your thoughts on this.

Thank you.

FYI: In the photos that have the flower, the leaves in the background are NOT an ipomoea; they are an eremophila. The leaves are shown clearly in the first 3 photos.

Thank You!

The first thing I do is check the bonap map:
http://bonap.net/Napa/TaxonMap...

Find a reliable source of characteristics:
https://gobotany.nativeplanttr...

And more pics from other trusted sites:

The next step would be comparing to the other species indicated as present in the area on the bonap maps. Sometimes I go ahead and do that for ya', but not this late in the evening. ; )

@purpleinopp

After a lot of research, I have come to the conclusion that it must be one of the species mentioned below:

pubescens
nil
lindheimeri
hederacea

It's most likely just a variant of the hederacea though. I want to see what others think, though. Thanks for helping!

Edit: found this: https://commons.wikimedia.org/...

and it seems we have finally solved the mystery!

Ipomoea hederacea looks like the winner! This photo from today morning definitely looks like hederacea.
