Hello!

I am new to vegetable gardening. I have a tiny vegetable garden on our backyard. I have some trees close by so shade is a challenge. It is the end of September and I noticed changes in the temperature.

Question, can grow be started now or is it already too late? How about some cover crops to protect soil? I would like to know what to do now in September and the coming months with my garden.

Any help or ideas are appreciated!

So sorry nobody has gotten to you yet, @ozmogardener...

In the MidWest pretty much all crops should be done by September/October. They just can't handle the frost, unless you want to spend a lot of money on grow lights, warm mats and other things, or you have a greenhouse.

I'm new to both the MidWest and MidWest gardening but I've accumulated enough information in the past year to know the above. I'm sure there are others much more knowledgeable about gardening that can help you further. Thumbs up
