Why do the blooms and buds on this particular brug get all wrinkly and funny looking? It is only on this particular plant. Sometimes the bloom "case" doesn't even split so it CAN bloom.

I have found that this happens mainly on doubles, why I stopped growing them some 20 years ago.
I also have issues with acidy soil that makes them appear they had disease. I found you have to watch then
and give them a helping hand to open up properly.

I think they are a separate species. Brugs and Daturas aren't the same.
Datura differ from Brugmansia in that they are herbaceous perennials, with erect or nodding, rather than pendulous, flowers - and usually spiny fruit).
Brugmansia seed pods look like this:

Karen, she asked about Thorn Apples, which are another name for Daturas.
Each variety has a different seedpod just like Brugmansias.
