Hi! Can someone please help me identify this plant? My kitten will be moving in soon and I want to know if it's toxic to cats. Thanks!!

Pretty much all plants are toxic to cats to one degree or another.

You can plant a small flat of rye grass, rapid to germinate and quick to grow, for the kitten to munch on. But I would keep all plants and cats apart.

If the ID of Ti Plant is correct, yes they are poisonous to both dogs and cats. And kitties can be very clever about finding ways to get to things you don't want them around!

Cordyline fruticosa is not toxic in the slightest. I have all the books on poisonous plants, and there is not a single case of reaction to this plant. It is used in zoo enclosures everywhere.
Also, it's used as a serving leaf for food everywhere in the tropics, and under sushi.
I wonder if any of the pundits here can find a scientific paper or citation showing some kind of harm from this plant.

Yet, still, no actual records of some adverse veterinary episode.
Show me an actual incident.

Yes, but does he have any concrete examples of a cat being adversely affected by this plant? No.

Hey friend, I support your position on the question here. (And so in philosophy does the article I linked. That's why I linked it. The author is a veterinarian and collector of exotic and theoretically harmful plants. ) What better background could one have on the question?
Plant it and they will come.

There have been two constants in my long life: plants and cats. I have heard about cats damaging plants, but I have never had a cat eat a houseplant nor personally known of a cat being poisoned from eating a houseplant. Not saying it can't or doesn't happen, but I think the worry far exceeds the frequency.

I do not have that plant..so heed what others have said if you want to play it safe.

But from what I have experienced with my cats..they seem to be more attracted to plants with thinner ribbon-like leaves..like leaves of Dracaena marginata. My cats just zeroes in on this plant either to nibble on the leaves or sleep on the container...

To help our Dracaena we have wheatgrass in a separate container so my two eager furry babies will munch on those instead.
