What a shame, Jim. Looks like you were lucky it didn't damage the house!

Anything else blooming in that lovely garden of yours?

OMG! That must have been some wind, on top of all the rain you have had. You can probably salvage it though. We only have those problems the rare years we get lots of rain here. Most years it's fire that causes the damage. Hilarious!

Sad! Sad But at least it's still there. I lost a peach tree last year in similar manner.

It is Epipactis helleborine season in NE Pennsylvania! We found many nice plants in bloom right along our path through the woods.

We also checked every previous location for Platanthera lacera, didn't see a single plant in bloom. Maybe next year....

Very pretty and I love the view down the path as well.

A fun surprise out in the back yard, my Passiflora quadrangularis has climbed 'way up into my stand of tall bamboo. I happened to look up there for some birds, and darned if it's not blooming again up there. I wonder if there might be the right pollenator around now. None of the flowers that bloomed earlier in the spring set a fruit. This variety is supposed to make yellow fruit the size of a football! The flowers are the size of my open hand. Also Hedychium 'Dr Moy' my favorite fragrant ginger starting up another round of blooms.

I started to grow quadrangularis last Summer, but in my surroundings it will never set fruit, unless it takes over the whole deck/house etc. Hilarious!
Keeping fingers crossed for you, it sure is a beauty!
