Great banner! I saw Thunderhead in bloom for the first time just this year, and I'm going to look for it next year to plant. Didn't realize the genus is Hylotelephium now, instead of Sedum.
Name: Cal McGaugh Escondido, California (Zone 10b)
aka 'Alpine, Life-everlasting, Live-forever, Livelong, Orphan John, Orpine, Stonecrop, Witch's Moneybags'
A winning plant & banner!
Have never grown it, but "Need to!", say the bees.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
Your banner is a beautiful way to enjoy the joy bees bring to any garden scene, but your caption also helped re-educate me taxonomically (if that's even a word). Now I'm burdened with the knowledge (if Wikipedia can be trusted) that the genus sedum has had 32 segregate genera split off from it recently, including this one, Hylotelephium. Where once there were 600, more or less, species of sedum, there now are a mere 420-470 species. For now. Tune in next month, or next year. The situation may have changed.
