Good morning/afternoon/evening !
Looks like my mother didn't heed my warning, putting her ogre ears in one of our darkest corners of the main floor
I think they dried out so much that the roots shrivelled up, or just became accustomed to being in dry soil. After about a year or two of not-so-ideal conditions, always dropping leaves and rarely growing new ones, one ogre, I believe she called this one Shrek, has succumbed. I think after she watered it, the roots were no longer viable, causing the whole thing to rot - and then grow mould. I decided to try to replenish the soil of the other one, which was old and likely nutrient-poor. Turns out, all the roots were brittle and dead. Now I have this stump. The lower end of the stems are dark, but solid - definitely not rotting (yet). I was going to put it in a small jar of water and under my grow light (indirectly, at first) to propagate, but I wonder if water will just rot it? Would soil or other methods be better?
tl;dr - mom killed an ogre ear jade, one is still living but rootless. how should i propagate it?
Please share your experience below :)
Thanks in advance !
