The buds and stems will look fine at first, but eventually they will just wilt and dry up before the buds have fully opened. Maybe I'm not watering it often enough?

Well, how often are you watering them? I have never had problems with flowering, they just flower like crazy. I water them about once a week.

I've just remembered that it is next to a radiator that gets warm each night, I'm not sure if that could cause it.

Maybe you are missing the flowers. They are not very exciting. Smiling

It's got two new buds on it, so I'm going to move it away from the radiator and put it in the bathroom where it's more humid, hopefully that will help.

Or just try watering again when the soil dries. Doubtful it would take 2 weeks for a small pot like that to dry.

I think the hot airflow from the radiator had made the flower buds dry.
