I was interested in this daylily because of the beautiful coral and related color tones in the AHS registration picture (linked above) and also the deep sculpted pleating of the petals shown there, which adds interest and movement to the form and also enhances the colors.

I don't see any evidence of that sculpting and pleating in the images here. @Char Char's well-liked picture shows some of the beautiful color tones of the AHS image, but evidently the pleats are not a reliable trait?

Hanson is not offering this one now although he lists some other 2010's. I wonder if this reflects disappointed feedback about it. If you grow it I'd appreciate hearing about your experience with it.

Hi Ann,
The pleating of Boiled Shrimp can vary, it tends to be one that shows gentle throat pleating and not one of the stronger pleated ones. The majority of my images do show gentle pleating. If you look at the parentage line from Set the Style you'll see a lot of variation there in the expression of the pleating, from none to extreme.
The color of Boiled Shrimp is beautiful, different and makes a nice addition to the garden. Curt does take his older intro's out of the catalog even though he may still grow it.

Thanks Char, 👍🏻 I do love the colors so I think I'll keep it on my "wanted" list. The pleating is not as important to me. I think it adds some additional interest. If it shows it here, that will be a bonus.
