Not sure if this is allowed, but wanted some help identifying a tea/dried flower labeled as "Pandora's Lust." The flowers are roughly 1/1.5 centimeters, it smells floral and a bit citrus-y, and when made into a tea is moderately psychoactive (like st. john's wart or kava but substantially stronger). One herb store mentioned day lilies as a potential ID but doesn't seem to explain the psychoactivity. Any help would be very appreciated!

Welcome! dreadscott
To clarify: are you certain there is only one plant in that? And the size of the entire flower head is less than .59 inches? Not big enough to be a daylily.

Is this a homemade, hand-labeled product?

Thank you so much for your response! Yes, the flowers are only that small, which is too small for day lilies (at least any variety that I know). I'm not certain whether it is all one plant or not, but separating out the petal-looking bits from the stem-looking bits, they both have very similar scents, textures, and colors. I am assuming the product was homemade - I found it deep in the cupboard of a housing co-op with a handmade label, but there were also hand labeled teas that had been store bought and repackaged.

Here are a few possibilities for consideration:

Dandelion
Camomile
Calendula
Jasmine

Not a tea drinker, but granny used to have these on hand at all times.

Hope it helps.

Anything on that list moderately psychoactive?

Here's a fun article and it only touches on plants you might see or grow in Colorado:

The point is, there are LOTS of psychoactive plants. The only person who knows what's in that mix is the guy who made it. It could be just one plant and the rest are filler and flavor.

PS: If you decide to DIY, do your research and read carefully. We don't want you to poison yourself.

I have all of those in my tea cabinet. Sadly, I've never experienced psychoactive effects.

It looks to me like the petals in the picture are speckled, but the size you've described has me baffled. Can you isolate a single, whole flowerhead and show it with some object for scale?

@Daisyl Thanks for the link, it was an interesting read.

@NMoasis Never tried any of them but the camomile, no effect here either. Sighing! Rolling on the floor laughing

Thanks everyone! I've attached an attempt at a more detailed photo with a quarter for scale. Looking closer, it seems like you all are right that it's probably a blend of a few different herbs/flowers. The petal on the right does actually remind me a lot of Calendula in size and smell, though more muted in color (which could be due to age). Definitely not psychoactive on its own though based on my previous experience. I've only purchased cut dandelion and whole chamomile/jasmine, but those all seem distinct from these for me. Happy to take more pictures if it would be helpful!

The one closest to the quarter looks like a piece of orange peel. Smiling

That could be a tea ingredient.
