A fun banner, Cheapskate! I wonder if this is the species K. elegans? The species I'm familiar with, K. paniculata, has pointed capsules.

It looks…rustly. Like it would crunch if you stepped on them.

If you have pictures of the leaves, we might be able to identify which species of golden rain tree you have.

There are several of these trees in and around the neighborhood and I love the color in the fall. What a beautiful specimen to have in your landscape if you have the space.

This tree is very invasive. The one I pictured is well maintained and the yard is mowed regularly. Down the road a bit is another yard that is not maintained and rarely mowed. It is so thick in some areas with Golden Rain Tree seedlings of various ages that it takes liberal use of a pair of loppers to make it through.

I have some seedlings and I was thinking of growing one in a planter on the patio.
