Hi SW Peeps!

Well, today I set my first ever round of indoor veggie garden starts. I'm excited and nervous about the whole thing, but it reminds me a lot about how I felt incubating my first chicken eggs. It also reminded me of filling cupcake tins! Oh boy, here we go.

I have 10 6-cell trays. Using a heat mat with a soil probe that I engaged. Timer set at 75. Planted an array of seeds most of them from my inventory. Here's what I planted: tomatoes (wide variety including six million cherry), squash (3 types: patty pan, cocozelle, tatume), artichoke and cardoon for landscape, bush beans, marketmore cucumber, and all season cabbage. I think that covers it.

Anyways, I just wanted to share. 7-10 day for germination at 75 degrees!! Yes, please! FYI: the grow light is on only for photos. Germinating in the dark before they break soil.

Hurray!

Question: do you have a thermostat on the heat mat?

Yes, I do! The heat mat was a Christmas gift. It's a digital temp mat with probe and I'm using it! I have it set at 77 right now. I have a timer in-line for the LED light, but I'm still using it manually right now. Once I get all the seedlings up, I'll go ahead and turn it to time since I've set the settings. I'm still in the incubation/germination zone and a hovering Mama.

Hurray!
