Hello! I need some help. I take cuttings every fall before frost and for the life of me have no idea what this plant is. I only have one of them and it's growing so nicely and I don't know what it is. Usually most of my cuttings from beds are annuals, I'm unsure if this is a bell of Ireland or a Salpiglossis (haven't grown before last summer and neither established well and I don't recall what they looked like). There is no distinct smell when a leaf is rubbed and the leaves have a slight velvet to them. The other items I have brought in as cuttings:

Calibroachas
Petunias
Basil
Coleus
Vinca vine
Lantana
Chenille plant

And it does not look like any of the above plants. I save seed but I usually don't have them out when I pot up cuttings. Seeds include: salvias, holly hock, balloon flower, nicotina, marigolds, nasturtiums, daisy, liatris, coneflowers.

Many thanks!

All your plants are perennial, just not hardy in your zone. If you took a cutting from an annual, it wouldn't root because it would be at the end of its life.

You're right, it doesn't look like any of the plants you listed.

Thanks - hoping I can get some ideas of where to look as it's a happy little plant.
