I have this tiny peperomia plant that I can't seem to identify. The leaves are alternate and very thick and glossy. It's very compact and robust (it's about 3 inches tall in the photo). All the new growth is brilliant lime green. It has an inflorescence at the top, which is also bright lime green. The stems are all reddish, right up to the base of each leaf.

I've tried to find it online, with no luck. The suggestions I've gotten from FB plant groups are amigo Marcello, scandens, glabella (it might be this one), urvilleana, pixie lime, and pixie green. I found just a couple of photos of scandens and glabella that looked similar to my plant, but not exactly the same. Otherwise, I've found nothing similar at all.

Can anyone tell me what species this peperomia is?

Hi & welcome! It's totally adorable! Where did you get it? Peperomia is a huge genus. Agree that it looks like one, but it may be hard to nail it down.

A search of the plant database on this site for "Peperomia", with the most popular first.

Hi purpleinopp! Thank you!! Glad to be here! I'll check out the database.

I got it at Walmart, where plants are usually only vaguely labelled, if at all. They're mostly labelled "Tropical" and that's it, so they always need detective work. This one is totally stumping me.

It's pixie if the stems joints aren't red

Knowing where a plant came from often leads to the grower's website. A lot of them have pics of their plants. ; )

Thanks, sedumzz. It's not a pixie. I've looked at tons of photos of pixie lime and pixie green and the leaf shape doesn't match. Thanks for trying! Smiling

That's the closest I could come to it, too. Still not sure, though.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I'm in Canada, so I got it at Walmart in Ontario, Canada. We don't have the same plants that Walmart in the US does and that's where I found the photo -- on Walmart.com.

It's not amigo Marcello because the stems on my plant are entirely red, not just where the leaves join the stem. I thought that at first, too, but the leaves are longer and narrower on amigo Marcello and nowhere near as thick. I have an amigo Marcello, too, and they are very different plants. Thanks for trying!

How can I find out where the plants in Walmart Canada come from? I would love to try to track it down, if at all possible. If it's the same place, my plant looks more like the Cypress Peperomia (glabella) on that page, but the leaves are still not thick enough.

Interesting. Could you add a pic of both of your plants, next to each other?

Here you go. Amigo Marcello first (It's just a piece that I'm trying to revive, so it's in rough shape. And there's a peperomia orba leaf to the right of it.) and the unidentified chunky one next (maybe glabella?).
