My first thought was a Blanket Flower (Gaillardia sp.) too. They grow wild all over the place. I went out to see if any of the volunteers in my yard were up yet but couldn't find one. Are the leaves a little scratchy?
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming...."WOW What a Ride!!" -Mark Frost
