What is the average cost of a sprinkler system in Florida? I moved into a house made in 1995. The sprinkler doesn't work and the installed company closed down.

I had someone do an estimate and he said it would be $2k to fix. We asked for the price to redo everything and modernize and he said $10k.
My home is about 1800sq ft on 1/4 acres.

I tried calling four local contractors but only one person actually responded with a $80 site survey.

I have no idea of the cost but that does sound excessive. Perhaps it has to do with the existing landscaping, it is always harder to work around mature plants/trees. I think I would keep getting estimates and learn a bit of what is involved from each of them then make a decision.
