Hello. Looking for anyone in the states that might have a currently blooming pseudobombax ellipticum, who would be interested in sending me some pollen. Thank you.

Welcome!

Where do you live that yours is already blooming? Mine is completely dormant. It doesn't usually manage to bloom anyway as I keep it pruned pretty tightly so it doesn't outgrow its limited space. I'd love to see a photo of yours.

My white one is in its bloom period now and has had some flowers but just has inch long buds at this moment. The reds don't have buds yet. I can send pollen when it flowers again (probably next week) if you need it. I don't plan on propagating them this year as I have at least a dozen seedlings from last years efforts. The seedlings are still dormant and too young for flowers but they make a fat little caudex right from the get go. You might try selfing your flowers, sometimes it works even when it shouldn't.
Be kind, we all struggle sometimes.

Here's my tree. I live in Kansas, and this tree lives in a greenhouse all year. The texture on the greenhouse roof is fresh snow.

Nice! How old is your tree?

Why are you growing them from seed when they grow so easily from cuttings?
