My first response was: an adenium, but then I saw the leaves and went, no, that does not fit. It could be an Adenia, though I did not find one that matched. However there are many caudiciform plants out there you'd probably not expect the super rare ones to show up at HD, so some kind of thick base ficus is also among the possibilities.

Maybe someone chimes in who actually recognizes the plant.

Yes it is an ant plant.Maybe this one: Ant Plant (Hydnophytum papuanum)

I'd like to find one of these too, so cute! You'll want to use the botanical name to look for info. A lot of plants are called ant plants.

Yep that's an ant plant either from the genus Myrmecodia, hydnophytum or myrmephytum. In the wild these things are epiphytic and have colonies of ants in them. I think care is more similar to a tropical plant.
Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. Philosophy is wondering if that means ketchup is a smoothie.
