Thread OP

Bought this guy last year, grew about 5 inches before cooler weather when it dropped all leaves. Weather is warming up (Phoenix AZ) but this guy seems stalled out. My other Rubra bought at same time has branched and is doing well (also didnt lose all leaves). So is this guy toast?

I'm not as experienced as the others but it looks completely fine, to me, in the picture. Honestly, looks like some of mine but they are slowly coming out of dormancy. Some just take a little longer to wake up than others.

Nothing wrong with that. Just like @nuswodahs said, some just take longer to come out of dormancy. Just water VERY sparingly. Just enough to get some humidity going in the pot, and keep it in the warmest place possible. It will wake when it's ready. I have some that are fully leafed out, some just stirring, and some still snoozing. Can't rush greatness, you know?

Some are just lazy. I have a handful that haven't budged. I guess they're waiting for the 90's.

OK, 5 weeks since original post, temps are hitting 90's here, didn't begin watering until the leaves appeared. Seems happy. What's the lighter green thick stalk in the center? Tell me it's gonna flower and I'll lose my mind.
