are you requesting an ID? Not a very good photo to go on, but from what I can see without knowing anything about the plant's habits, I'd guess Sulphur Cinquefoil (Potentilla recta)

or Shrubby Cinquefoil (Dasiphora fruticosa)

something similar to those. Really need a closer up photo of the leaves, stems, flowers ect, and where the plant is growing when the photo was taken.

All my mom said is it it called Primrose. After yrs of asking at stores etc They said it's a Missouri Evening Primrose. I have bought several. Couldn't do a thing with them . Wasn't the same one. But the one my mom had when you picked a dead bloom off of it, if you watched it. You would hear a pop and it would open a new one right before your eyes. Sorry. This is a pic of a pic. This was growing in Hamilton Ohio. It's taller then others I have seen. Most descriptions say it only gets about 18-30 in high. This was planted next to the porch steps so it was pretty tall. Thank you.

That sounds so cool!
Definitely not Missouri primrose...

But certainly looks like the wild evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) I'm used to seeing...
Unfortunately, not too many plants bloom while I watch.
But evening primrose do open at dusk...

But... they tend to be biennial... Which also isn't the growth habit you describe.

doesn't look like any primrose I have seen, without a botanical name it could be anything. "primrose" may just be what your mom called it. I called a weed in my yard "Creeping Charlie" for years, and then one day on facebook someone posted a pic of a very different weed, and dozens of people said oh I call that creeping charlie. A fight arose among them all lol as to who's pet name was correct.

All the flowers in the pic are four-petaled. So not a Cincefoil, but a primrose (Oenothera, not Primula) has four petals.

Oenothera laciniata is nicknamed cutleaf primrose.

We have a couple of photos of Long-Tube Evening Primrose (Oenothera flava) in our database.
I also linked a couple other sites with lots of photos and descriptions, does not look like your photo.

Stone originally suggested Common Evening Primrose (Oenothera biennis) and photos show it quite tall.

I know . My moms porch was up about 5 steps. So the plant actually did look like a small tree or large shrub. All of the Primrose I see are kind of low down to the ground. The pic I sent in of the plant was taken right after she was given 6 months to live. She lived 4 months and 14 days. I was going to try to dig it up . But was so busy with her house after she died . I didn't have time before it got cold . I do remember an elderly neighbor /gardener walking around the yard with me and pointing to all of the starts coming up of the same plant. There was one blooming in the crack of her sidewalk and even one in the alley behind her house. The leaves reminded me of the big Dandelions that pop up in the yard. Mom died in 07. My husband has purchased me several diff Primrose plants . But they wasn't the same and didn't survive. I would love to find out where to get this . This article came from a page yrs ago when I was looking for information on it. I just found it again the other day when I sent it to you. Now to find the plant. Thank you all.

Probably easiest to find it in the wild... after it's become a standing dead plant... collect some of those seed pods and sow in loose soil... usually comes up fairly easily...

Sometimes I add it to the cooking pot:
