Thread OP

Live in Cypress Texas.
Since the price of fertilizer has ballooned, and I have quite a few fruit trees in my backyard, I'm trying out creating my own fertilizer (plus my compost piles are lagging behind due to the winter).
I've go the nitrogen portion down. I'm using urine (sounds gross, but its used all throughout the world) which is diluted with water 10-1 ratio.
Potassium I'm using yellow banana peels that I dry out in the sun, then grind to a powder. What I'm trying to figure out, is about(ish) how many banana peels I should be using per tree.
The paige mandarin trees are 4 and 5 years old and are for the most part at full height of 11 feet and 9 feet wide. The feijoa trees are are about the same age but still growing, and are 6-8 feet tall and wide

Any help would be appreciated

I'll be interested to hear the results.

So far with the quick release nitrogen portion, I'm seeing almost double the blooms from last year.
Unfortunalty without the proper potassium, and the reason I'm asking, the fruit will drop off, especially with the citrus trees. If I add too much potassium, then the fruit will stay, but the rinds will be very thick.

I'm no help. Before the Valentine freeze of 2021, I had 15 citrus trees, but all I ever fertilized with was manure, and they did very well. I have no idea what the balance of the various nutrients was.
