Gorgeous pink blooms, but the white one in the back is also beautiful. Great banner!

Peonies are one of my favorite flowers, especially pink. Sadly I don't have any right now, I used to cut them from my neighbor's yard, but the new owners pulled them all out... Beautiful banner.

I have no idea. There were 2 rows of peonies about 50' total, another 25' row of daylilies, and a beautiful old lilac bush they took out in the back. There was also a small wooden deck that they ripped out so it's just bare asphalt where that was, and the Concord grape vines that enclosed the deck. It was a nice secluded little space, and it's not that the deck was falling apart, it was in good shape. In the front they pulled out the evergreens that were along the foundation so it's all just bare now. And a nice row of alpine currants that were between the houses that I used to care of for the previous owners. Now it's just weeds that grow there for me to look at. The grass is left and 3 trees, 2 of them too big to remove by themselves and an a smaller tree out front that I'm really surprised they didn't remove. There's been nothing new going in either, it's just all bare.

Jo Ann, such pretty pink and cream colors--perfect for Easter! Smiling Do you know the names of these peonies?

You're imagining it perfectly, both the front and back are really hideous. The front has about a 10" stone raised area that runs along the front where the evergreens used to be that now is just dirt and weeds.

I think a lot of new home owners aren't gardeners. When they see a lot of plants they think they will be too much trouble and work, so they pull it all out. We sold a home with lovely trees and plants. A year later everything was gone and the place looked so awful. It was heartbreaking.

Plants are wonderful, even if it takes a little work to keep them there. They make the place look alive, and not to mention all the butterflies, bees, and birds that visit with them thriving there!

If that was the case where they thought it would be too much work, they pulled out the easiest maintenance-free plants they could have. Just eventually remove the dead foliage sometime before the next spring for just the daylilies and peonies. They don't even require watering.

But I noticed the daylilies are coming up in their yard! It was such an old patch, I doubt they could get rid of them unless they dug up all that 25' length a foot down. So maybe there's hope for the peonies too, I think they started to come up after the daylilies. We'll see if they try to kill them off again or give up and just leave them.

Crossing Fingers! Crossing Fingers! Let's hope they leave them, for their sake, and yours. I bet they'd love some flowers, even if it's a minimal amount. (who wouldn't?)
