TY for the suggestions! I'm at a loss to sort the two species suggested.

Hmm... if stepping through a large area of this and stooping to take a few pics, and I didn't sniff anything, does G. odoratum seem right? It was kind of breezy at that spot...

How aggressive is it?

Sweet woodruff is a perennial, bedstraw is an annual... with those little balls that catch on your clothes... mater of fact... the vines are breaking off and catching on my clothes...

That dude is cool! Welcome to visit my yard anytime.

I saw this plant behind a bank in a nearby town so it's not readily accessible but whenever I go back over there, I'll check on the spot again & pull a few leaves to sniff.

I would LOVE to find some seeds. Whatever this plant is, it would be right at home in our "lawn" with all of the other micro-bloom plants already battling it out, out there. So far, I've had zero luck trying to introduce new plants to the mowed area, so clearly more effort is needed. The grasses are rough garbage vines, but the micro-bloom plants are great!

App lists it as an annual, but it reseeds itself.
It is not considered an invasive species, but is considered an unwanted
weed which should be taken up before flowers produce seeds.

That's IT! TYVM, Patsy. I would do everything I could to add this plant to my "lawn," and not consider it unwanted, but TY for relaying the info from the ap. Does this ap consider where a photo is taken in calculating the dispensed info about what one "should" do with a plant?

I did upload a few pics the last time this adorable plant grabbed my attention.
