@Paully there are a lot of pics of C. fragrans to compare in the plant database on this site: Basket Plant (Callisia fragrans)
This was my guess because the growing end of a stem can look like a Bromeliad, but it has a stem like Tradescantia zebrina, which I think is what was meant by wandering Jew. Alternate nicknames for that are zebra plant or inch plant.
