Lilacs just starting to open

Unfortunately, I don't have the name of this particular lilac. Usually every May I go to Lilacia Park in Lombard, IL, where there are literally hundreds of different lilacs. I skipped the last 2 years because of Covid, but I'm thinking I'll do it this year. Just driving near this park you get the wonderful scent of lilacs coming from everywhere if you go at the right time when they're all in bloom.

Just reading the word "lilac" arouses scents to your senses. You did a perfect cropping of your clear and sharp photograph. Beautiful Spring banner.

A perfect capture of the lilac cluster in the act of opening. I hope you do get to visit Lilacia Park this year. It sounds like a wonderful place.

Thank you. I've always loved lilacs even when I was a kid. I had no idea they also came in darker colors until I found this park, I'd only seen the very light lilac colored or white, and sometimes a very pale pink up until then. I think I found this park by signing up to my state's tourist site, they send out a quarterly email about activities, and they had a feature about it one year in there. I wished I knew about it decades sooner! Hilarious!

So beautiful!! I love lilacs, when they are blooming. Sadly, they aren't so attractive a bush, when they aren't.

Around here, the Boston Arboretum has a huge collection of lilacs that bloom on Mother's Day weekend. You can imagine that's a popular stop!

Beautiful shades of color in your banner. It does remind me of springtime and the wonderful scent. Lilacia Park sounds delightful. If you go, I hope you will share photos. Lovey dubby
