From what I understand, the species
Spiraea cantoniensis has single flowers. There is a selection of Reeves Spiraea, 'Lanceata', that has double flowers.
There may very well be misidentified photos dispersed throughout the range of species and selections of Spiraea in Plants Database. This site relies upon some level of knowledge by contributors, as well as review by the admins. Spiraea species can look remarkably similar (as can many other closely related plant species), and overlapping common names and proliferation of selections and hybrids can lead to confusion in properly identifying, naming, and placing images in the appropriate entry.
