Finally found a female Possumhaw Holly! Over 5 foot tall, so a bit expensive, but since I have a couple of male trees, I've been wanting one with the red berries...these already had tiny green berries, so that's how you know it's a female plant.Went to Boerne's Plant Sale at Herff Farm on Saturday. The Boerne chapter of NPSOT had a separate area just for Texas natives. Also picked up a couple of 4-inch pots of Hill Country Penstemons endemic to Texas, red flowers. And a couple of 4-inch pots full of little Copper Lilies. Yum! That sale I didn't know about until a few days before it happened! On May 28th, there will be the 2022 San Antonio Festival of Flowers, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Plant Swap part is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can bring plants to exchange for tickets to get other plants. Google for plants/seeds/bulb exchange rules. Near the Botanical Gardens, 1330 North New Braunsfels by Funston. They charge an entrance fee...think it's $7.
