This is the first these have bloomed for me as containerized plants. Floral stalks emerged in October and flowers only opened today.

Fantastic! What kind of location do you put it in for winter?

PlantLady, you are definitely correct! It is the Yellow Bird of Paradise cultivar, 'Mandela's Gold'. In my excitement to see them actually bloom, I forgot the typical colors are orange and blue not, yellow and blue. I got them in HD a few years ago, they were tiny. Had no idea that they grew so fast..., I even thought they were S. nicolai (Giant White Birds) for a while. I have giant birds as well. Purple, they are outside from April into November in FULL SUN, UNOBSTRUCTED, HOT, southern exposure. In the Winter, they go into a minimally heated garage in NJ/Zone 7b in which I also overwinter tons of subtropicals (mostly Citrus, some Giant Birds, and lots of palms and cycads). Can't help but notice those blue and yellow in resemblance to these.

That's so interesting! Does your garage have windows, or it is a dark dormancy? Do you water? I'm always looking for plants that don't require tons of light for winter.
