I am very interested in growing Adeniums from seed, little advice please. I have gone crazy looking at web sites. 1 best soil mix. 2 should I use anti fungal powder on seeds and in soil if yes which one. 3 should I cover seeds while germinating, my green house temp this time of the year is 95 to 105f . Sorry if this has been asked before but I cant find it. I can keep Pachypodiums, Euphorbias and Aloes alive. I would like to try Adeniums. thanks Bob

depends ...what are the current lows and high outdoor temperatures where you live ??

if nights are a sustained above 50° ..with zero chance of freezing ...

I would start single seeds in peat pots (2x2x2") using medium grain sand or a sand mixture (like Miracle-Gro Cactus, Palm & Citrus Potting Mix)

no need to treat seeds with anything ....

pre-fill each peat pot with sand / sand mixture .. lay in seed - then barely cover seeds with sand / sand mixture

water in ....lay out in sun - without covers .....keep moist - but not dripping wet .... peat pots should absorb water and "look wet" ..... if peat pots look dry - water

seeds should sprout in less than a week

Repot - wait until seedlings sprout 3 or 4 sets of leaves .... peel down sides of peat pots ...repot into prefilled pots ......wait a day or so then water in

pots - adenium do not need a deep pot - the first few years plastic pots can be used ....

repot media - must be fast draining

I soak my seeds overnight with a tbsp of hydrogen peroxide and a cup of water. And my initial water has the same mixture. Not sure if it makes a difference but supposedly it will help to prevent damping off.

Thank you James and Gigi. I am in NM and at the moment we have 25-30mile per hour winds gusting to 50plus and 8% humidity, I cant put any plants outside yet they will not survive. My seeds will be here this week I will get all my stuff ready . Thank you again Bob
