Thread OP

Hi - we received this as a gift so I do not know what type of plant it is. Have been giving it water ever ~10 days but it is browning badly. Any advice on if this can be saved or how to give it a better life? Thanks!

Hi & welcome! It looks like a cultivar of Dracaena genus. Is the soil taking 10 days to dry? If it is drying sooner, you could water sooner. The brown leaf should peel cleanly off of the stem. It's normal for the oldest leaf to go brown as new ones are formed at the top and the trunk slowly turns woody from the ground-up.

It's a Dracaena as identified above, I see one dead leaf, not an issue. Life goes on.
