Little Bee Butts in Autumn Crocus

At least I think it's Autumn Crocus. This was taken at Chicago Botanic Garden in fall, they were coming up from a massive ground cover area of English Ivy and Vinca. A lot of the opened flowers though had these little bees burrowed down, like they were so happy they weren't coming out again.

GORGEOUS!! It's so hard to describe the beauty of this crocus banner. I tip my hat to you.

Bees must know their days of nectar gathering for the year are numbered when the Autumn Crocus and other fall flowers start to bloom. No wonder they are so enthusiastic over such a bounty.

Thank you, everyone! Yes, those little bees were really digging in and not going anywhere, it was just funny to watch them.
