Thread OP

These chrysanthemums have had these little bumps on them for a few years now. This year it's so bad they haven't bloomed at all. Every leaf and bud is warped and twisted. Anyone know what they are and how to get rid of them? Sad Thanks in advance.

Can you provide a close-up of that... growth in picture #3? Have you noticed other similar growths near ground level?

If by growth you mean the round white thing, that is a flower bud that's been shriveled due to the bumps. There aren't any bumps at the ground level. They're mostly concentrated on the new growth at the top. Thanks for your help!

Welcome! Evan
Could be that's a chrysanthemum gall midge. At least, it's a gall of some kind. I didn't find a lot of info, but you might do a more complete search. Here's an article out of New Zealand

Then we can rule out crown gall.

I think the suggestion this may be a Gall midge has a lot of merit, you should look into it albeit there appears to be very little on the matter.

Thanks for the link and the warm welcome, NMoasis! I looked into it and it does look extremely similar to what these mums have. I'll try to treat it accordingly.

Thanks you two for your help, it's greatly appreciated!
