Thread OP

Hello,

I picked up a handful of seeds in California from a woodland where sequoia were growing in the hope that I could grow a giant tree back here in Czech Republic.
One seed grew and I am having problems identifying it.
It looks a bit like an incense cedar but the needles are slightly different.
Any help would be appreciated as I want to plant it in the garden and if I knowwhat it is I can research the best position for it.

Thanks, Neil

The needles tell me Sequoiadendron giganteum. Looks like you got lucky.

Thanks mr chicken. That's good news. I won't plant it right up against the house then! I appreciate your speedy answer. I will care for it so that future generations can marvel upon its splendor.
