Yaaaaaaaaay! Hurray!
I wondered if using net pots (normally for hydroponics, but bought for my orchids, originally) would help roots to stay damp enough to grow but dry enough to minimize rot and just look at what 'Othello' has done!

This is even in medium that is not optimal as it has peat in it, but the net pots must allow it to dry enough it's not as much of an issue.

Hopefully.

PS: has anyone else used net pots? If so, did the sempervivum continue to do well in them?
Thanks!

Alice, I thought you get summer rains?
Our problem is that we don't get any summer rain starting in July and through through Semptember. I have to water the beds at least once a week.

@herrwood , how large were your laundry baskets? Did they dry out too quickly or did you just not like the look?

My net pots are not large, but I'm trying to apply what I'm learning to wider applications.

When growing in net pots, one must remember to be prepared for unexpected consequences...

Tarantula tried to do push ups, but was already too well rooted. This stolon went on an adventure, instead, and has popped out the side.
