Thread OP

Hi everyone, I recently purchased some cuttings when on Oahu and for some reason had the foolish idea to freshly cut them before potting. I now realize that this is not recommended...but, are they ruined? Or just at risk for infection? Will they still root??

They can still root that way, just be very cautious with watering. I know people that prune and stick them straight into the soil with no problems.

Ok thanks. That makes sense. I heavily watered once right after potting but not since and the soil is already pretty dry so fingers crossed.

Welcome! I have planted them straight and just put the pot on hot pavers. Bottom heat helps in getting the cuttings to root. Good luck!
