I have just bought similar hose last weekend from our local Home Depot..still fairly new so cannot comment on longevity but I do like very much how light and easy it is to move around and to store. I really hated lugging around our heavier hose, but this one seems working good. Will see how it goes after the summer/fall season.

One thing I've noticed is; if you are at all lacking in water pressure, your 25' hose is only worth 10 or 15'. Whistling

Thanks for this input, chelle. I was thinking about giving the hose a try, but being on a well my pressure is not constant. Guess I'll save my money. I tip my hat to you.

You're welcome, Ginger.

I'm a bit bummed about it -you and I run the same type of well I guess. Ours also supplies water to two houses which is always a bear...with any kind of sprinkler too.

Don't know how long mine will work but so far it is exactly what I need for my use. I have a second floor bed room that I have set up for extra plants. There is a big seed starting table and plants that need to be over wintered. Ric put a hose connecter into the water line for the sink in the upstairs bathroom for me. Previously I had a short (3ft) section of hose that I used to fill a watering can and carried it back and forth. Now I just take the hose over to the bedroom to water. When I am done I turn off the water line and empty the hose into the watering can as it shrinks back to near the original size. I will say that it isn't something I would probably use for in my yard but maybe if I just had a small area like a deck I might.

That sounds like a great use for it, Holly. Thumbs up

I'll use mine mostly on the deck, I think. It won't be long enough for any other useful purpose here. Hmmm, maybe I should get a hundred-footer and just call it a fifty-footer...that might work for other areas. Big Grin

I love mine. Got it from HD. Got a 50' one and generally don't fully 'charge' it. It doesn't stretch the full 50' easily but is so light and easy to move that I don't care. The best thing is it hasn't kinked once. I am so sold on them I'm getting two more. Hurray! Hurray! Sorry to be such a commercial for them Lovey dubby *Blush* Lovey dubby just tired of dragging those old heavy vinyl kinky hoses around that cost just as much. Grumbling

They sure do sell. Each weekend we have put out a display of them , and they pretty much sell out in a day or so.

Love that we have this tools forum now -- I don't know where this thread was originally, but I hadn't seen it until now. I think I might have to try one of these hoses, DH is the master of hose kinking and even I am getting pretty tired of me complaining about it ! Hilarious! (the best non-kinking hose I ever had lasted about 2 days, then our dog chewed holes in it... Blinking )

what about the slim, lightweight, "coil-type" hoses, has anyone tried those? I think I read somewhere that they don't really coil back up as well as they might, but I could see that they would be pretty useful in certain places.

Well, my own experience with those "coil-type" hoses, is that they seem to find themselves wrapped around all those delicate little plants that you really don't want ripped out when you pull on the hose. But that's just me. Hilarious!

That's what I was afraid of.

Thanks for the tip, Woofie!

The coil type and the pocket hose are two different types are they not? Are we talking coiled or expandable?

I think Sandy was asking about those permanently coiled hoses, which as you say is a different type from what we were originally discussing.

Here is the one I have now. It is expandable pocket hose

https://www.pockethose.com/?gc...

This is the coiled one - never tried
Or http://www.gardeners.com/buy/s...

This is the one I think I would like to try next
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HTC575K/

I like the lightweight and ease of using but they must be treated better than I do

Thumb of 2014-07-30/CDsSister/71266f

They should be coiled and stored not left in the sun as above, after letting all the water drain out.

Sorry to switch gears. there, Marilyn -- I like the idea of the expandable hoses, but was wondering about the coil hoses (as shown on your link) Smiling

All I seem to have now are "regular" hoses that have been irreparably kinked by my husband!! Sad

Sorry I missed the moment of switch. I have never tried a coiled house, I only imagine it is as muc
a mess as my old coiled telephone cord. Caught on everything.
