Stunning!! I love Portulacas. They are so pretty and so easy.

I have 5 smallish pots of Portulacas growing here in my back yard. I saw on Y-Tube that these are extra easy to start from cuttings, Litterally just stick a cutting in dirt. So I fixed up amither pot, took a bunch of cuttings and stuck them in the dirt. I should have another pot of Portulacas growing soon.

That could work if the soil is moist. If it doesn't work, you could try rooting in water first.

This one managed to stay alive over winter, even though it looked pretty awful by spring.

I watered the cuttings well and I am sure they will root but we will see. I do think the Portulacas are so pretty.

Here is my hanging basket that I bought at the local supermarket plant section. It was labelled Portulaca but is must be some type of Purslane.

BEautiful! It is both. Portulaca is a botanical name, purslane is a nickname. It is some cultivar of Portulaca umbraticola.

The pic I showed is the same thing, just a different cultivar bloom.

The leaves are totally different on the Portulaces that I have in my pot ghetto garden. I do the beautiful flowers.

They are the moss rose type but the label said Portulaca Happy Hour Tropical Mix.

They really are very pretty. Very cheerful and colorful.

I took cuttings and stuck them in the pot here.
