I have had enough of our gas powered weed wacker. My ears, hands, and back can't handle it anymore. I am looking at the battery operated weed wackers -- anyone have a brand that they like?

Thanks!

I like Worx have had one for years they are durable, we don't have a huge area that needs weeds cut down. Completely adjustable and not to heavy, charge last to do more than one entire yard trim.
If you want to be happy for a lifetime plant a garden!

Go find one that has the power you need and feels good. Not all feel and work the same. I use EGO and I love it because I have alot to whack and I can use both my batteries and recharge in one session.

Like pepper23, I have an EGO wacker and lawn mower. I love them both! The batteries are interchangeable so I can use one tool while recharging the second battery.
Under stress, heavier weeds, I get about 40 minutes of run time. Lighter weeds/grass ups that to 50-55 minutes. Recharge time is about 50 minutes so as you see that while you are working with one, your battery is charging so you can be ready for some serious work time.
Mower does a very nice job as well!! It's work time varies from 40-55 minutes depending upon stress. The wetter and taller the lawn, the less the cutting time is.

I have a Ryobi weed whacker and love it. I have a typical city/suburban lot size, but the power lasts for many trimmings before I need to recharge the battery. The battery is also interchangeable with many other Ryobi power tools as well as garden tools. It's a very light weight model, I didn't want anything heavy to deal with at my age, so I can easily hold it as long as it takes to do any job without any fatigue or tired arms.

Ryobi is another good one. Lots of different sizes to choose from as well. You have the 18v and the 40v. Just depends on your needs.

Thank you all for your feedback. It is reassuring that folks have had success with several brands. I noticed that 3 of you listed EGO, and I made a note of that. Next stop, Lowe's/Home Depot/Ace Hardware! I am going to follow Amanda's suggestion -- try out the ones you all listed for weight, sound, balance. Hopefully, I will have a new weed wacker within a week. Thanks again!
