Not so discolor Cissus discolor? in the Houseplants forum

Hello everyone, some time ago i got this cutting of a Cissus discolor which has now grown some leaves, but they don't develop the characteristic pattern. Does anyone know what might be wrong? (it cannot be the light)

It's inside, together with my other Cissus, which looks like this (the cutting is from another motherplant, i don't know what that one looks like, though). I wonder if there is such a thing as 'bad genes'?
