Thread OP

Hi

First time poster - did a quick search and didn't find anything related to this so I figured I would post.

I noticed interesting Japanese Beetle behavior on some large pink astilbe. I have several kinds of astilbe and this is the only one that the beetles seem interested in. It's also the only astilbe type I have that has a faint scent.

The beetles sit on the flowers of this plant. They don't appear to be eating them. They also don't appear to be having sex on them. Seems very different from what occurs on my roses.

It is still early in the season where I am, so maybe the beetles will revert to normal behavior.

Has anyone seen this before?
