Hello, for the first time ever I'm seeing these tiny insects on one of my oriental lilies, are they aphids? They are on the underside of the leaves, and on the flower buds. They don't look like any aphid photos I have seen on-line. I have rarely seen aphids on my garden plants, so I'm unfamiliar with them. I washed them off with water, but they eventually came back. Is there any other organic way to treat? Thank you!

Aphids.
There are so many different kinds of aphids. A great many of them will change color depending what they are feeding upon. If they feed on something with say a red juice of sap, they will appear to be very red in color.

Thanks Bill, I found out that they are indeed lily aphids called "purple spotted lily aphids,", as in: https://content.ces.ncsu.edu/p.... I've been hosing them off, and saw a few ladybugs that maybe were feeding on them. Strange, the aphids were only on one of my lilies, and I have many lilies! Thanks again, and sorry for the late reply!

I am happy to hear that you know what they are.
